This course will cover the physiology of cardiac emergencies in cats and dogs, including diagnosing and developing a treatment plan for these patients. To earn a certificate of completion the participant must complete all learning modules and score 80% or better on the end-of-course test. Completion of the course will take a minimum of 70 minutes. Participants must complete the participation requirements by June 30, 2023 to be eligible for a certificate. Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to
- Review relevant pathophysiology of various cardiac emergencies in cats and dogs.
- Identify a practical approach to the diagnosis of various cardiac emergencies in cats and dogs.
- Develop a logical and medically sound treatment plan for a patient with various cardiac emergencies.
Level and Prerequisites: This basic drip.vet/VIN CE self-study course is open for enrollment to veterinarians actively interested in Cardiac Emergencies. This course is open to VIN members only.
Accreditation: This non-interactive course is approved for 1 hour of continuing education credit by RACE for veterinarians. (RACE 20-843074)
