Course Information:
In this non-interactive course, we will discuss the diagnostics, management, and treatments used in feline obesity patients. Our guest case will be Gimli, an obese M/N DSH. Key Nutritional Factors, disease, and nutritional management including client communication and follow up will complete the course.

This course will consist of one non-interactive segment that will include handouts to be read, a 5 part video to view, and a mandatory end of course test. To earn a certificate of participation, you must watch all videos and attain a score of 80% or higher on the end of course test. The videos and reading library handouts should take the participant a minimum of 2.5 hours total. Participants must complete participation requirements by December 31, 2022 to be eligible to earn a certificate of participation.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
  • Interpret and explain the predisposing factors associated with feline obesity.
  • Categorize and support disease management including available diets, portion control, and exercise.
  • Analyze Key Nutritional Factors for managing an obese feline patient.
  • Develop and explain a feeding plan and follow up for clients and their cats.
Level and Prerequisites: This advanced VSPN CE non-interactive courseis geared toward veterinary technicians, especially those working toward their VTS in Nutrition.
